A Mystical Victorio and Lucchino Show
The fairytale continues with Victorio & Lucchino’s 2010 wedding gown collection. The pair from Seville, Spain, known for their mermaid cut dresses with a touch of Andalucía outdo themselves again this year with a collection that seems to have come straight from an enchanted forest.
The chiffon, crepes and organdie floating down the runway brought with it the illusion that the models could disappear and reappear at will. The vaporous dresses, each with their own unique layers, biased cuts, lace or gathering would make any woman feel as though she had just arisen from fairy dust herself.
Their creative mermaid cut wedding gowns are still the most sought after by brides who want to wear Victorio & Lucchino and this year’s collection didn’t disappoint.
The mermaid dresses were elegant and yet still dynamic, with that creative touch of Andalucía that the duo are known for. But for the woman whose dream wedding dress isn’t the mermaid cut, Victorio & Lucchino are still a magnificent choice. From empire waist to A-line the wedding gowns in this collection are timeless, elegant and charming. As for my favorites, it was hard to choose, but I finally narrowed it down.
At first glance the layers of this dress may seem too much, but the more you stare, the more you will want to try it on. Under the chiffon layers is a fitted, ivory dress that will surely make a girl feel like a woman but the chiffon layers keep the whole image soft and amiable.
This wedding gown is one of the most romantic pieces I have ever seen. An empire waist dress with soft, long layers in the skirt bring to mind the perfect fairytale ending. Details like the lace at the bodice, the subtle bow at the waist and the shoulder straps resting away from the breast line show just why Victorio & Lucchino are who they are.
And finally we have a sophisticated dress with gorgeous detailing in the skirt and light, capped sleeves. I think it’s important to remember that not all brides are looking for a youthful dress, but have a more mature taste and need a dress to match. This dress does just that, adding style and elegance to someone with mature taste without bringing to mind the dreaded word ‘old’.
