The online shoppers haven for all things designer, has recently added a Wedding Boutique to it’s site. And they certainly launched it in style, if you remember our previous blog on Carrie’s wedding dress. The Vivienne Westwood wedding gown from “Sex and the City” film is one of the dresses available to buy, although it sold out straight away!
So what else is there on offer in the new boutique?
The range is divided into Bride, Bridesmaid, Mother of the Bride, Guests, Lingerie and Honeymoon.
Now if your after traditional, big, floaty gowns for you and your bridesmaids, then this is probably not the site for
you.
All of the bridal gowns are a bit more cutting edge (think Carrie in SATC, in fact the Westwood gown is probably the most traditional on offer) and with only 9 to choose from at the moment you won’t be spoilt for choice. My pick is the Roksanda Ilincic gown, which will make you feel bridal, whilst still allowing you to make a statement.
The advantage with the bridesmaids dresses on offer, is that they could all be worn again, as like the bridal gowns they are not traditional style dresses, but more evening out dresses. And I would certainly thank a bride for choosing the Alice & Olivia ruffle mini dress in smoke grey as my bridesmaid outfit.
The lingerie section has a good range to choose from, with beautiful, sexy designs from Stella McCartney, Elle Macpherson, La Perla and Dolce and Gabbana.
And the Wedding Boutique is not just aimed at Bride’s, their mums have a section to browse too, my favourite find is a stunning bright pink Donna Karan twisted front dress. Just be careful you are not upstaged by your own mum on the day!
The best section (in my opinion!) is the Guest section, as it’s divided up into Beach, Country, Day and Evening helping to simplify the outfit choice for guests. I have always wondered, having never been to one, what would I wear to a beach wedding and now I know, the Milly halter dress in turquoise, teamed with the Giuseppe Zanotti metallic sandals and Philippe Audibert silver disc bracelet, now just got to find someone whose having a beach wedding!
