Writer Guidelines
Hi!
Thank you for your interest in blogging for http://weddingfashionfiles.com/
The blog is designed to be a source for brides to find:
· style tips,
· edgy reviews on what’s hot and what’s not (we used to be called the Wedding Fashion Police),
· bios about European designers,
· the latest news about new collections,
· reviews or hot picks from big catwalk shows,
· special deals and steals
and more.
Tips
Be bold. I am looking for writers whose voice can really shine through. You don’t have to be controversial, but please be yourself. Not all voices will be the right fit for this blog, but I am looking for a variety.
Be accurate. You don’t have to be well versed in fashion, but I do expect authors to do their homework. In other words, you don’t have to have seen every single dress that Paloma Blanca has ever designed, but if you are writing about a new collection or a dress that you love I do expect you to do a quick Google, or check out the About page on her website.
Be current! Please folks, do not even attempt to write for this blog if you don’t have a good eye for what is current in wedding fashion. Being a ‘fashionista’ for us doesn’t mean owning every copy of Vogue in five different languages but it does mean that you will be able to look at a range of wedding dresses and be able to see that puffy sleeves and sequined applique are SO eighties! A quick look at our site should give you a good idea of what is hot.
Be helpful. The more interesting and helpful your articles are to brides, the more likely they are to be bookmarked, Tweeted and linked to.
Be topical. If you are really looking to generate some traffic (and bonuses) then keep an eye on what is trending in the wedding world. Celebrity weddings or a designer who has been popular at the latest red carpet event would be great places to look for ideas.
Articles must be Europe based. This means they should cover:
· A European designer
· Celebrity weddings in Europe
· General wedding fashion articles that can relate to Europe or brides anywhere in the world.
· Hot wedding fashion news in general
· No links/mentions of brands that are not available in Europe (check the shipping page)
· Avoid US designers unless you are drawing a comparison.
