Unless you possess some superhuman ability to resist chocolate and extra stuffing you will probably have put on a few pounds over the festive season. Add in all those calories from champagne and Baileys, and swapping an hour at the gym for an hour in front of the TV and getting back into your wedding dress in time for D-Day may be top of your New Year resolutions.
But as if losing weight wasn’t hard enough, what with half finished boxes of chocolates lying around and portions of turkey curry filling your freezer, many women also claim that the typical post-Christmas budget is also a barrier to a successful diet.

Italian design house Carnevali Spose’s new wedding gown collection features structured lines with plenty of feminine touches such as lace overlays and elegant gathered folds.
There are also some hints of colour, particularly blue notes which have crept their way into so many 2010 bridal gown collections.
The wedding gowns are contemporary, with plenty of unique dresses for a modern bride to choose from.
We’ve all been there, whether its after a long day at the office or a long night of dancing, when you’re not sure what part of your feet hurt more. But no bride needs to be more worried about her aching feet than enjoying her big day.
For this very reason Emily and Jessica Leung started Hey Lady – a range of wedding shoes for brides and bridesmaids that you can actually dance in. This is thanks to both the PORON insole, a memory foam developed by NASA which is both breathable and shock absorbing and the hidden arch support which helps to distribute your weight evenly across your foot. But the science bit is all very well if the shoes look awful or remind you of something a granny would wear but I’m pleased to report that their collection is fa, with a variety of styles which are available in either a 3″ or 4″ heel. (Yes, that’s right ladies: a high heeled shoe that is comfortable!)

Still not sure exactly what colour scheme to opt for for your wedding? Try out this cool tool online, from Pantone. With their full range of colours you can mix and match swatches to see how various combinations will look. But the site offers much more than just colour swatches, letting you create a full styleboard with real life images to give you an idea of how your wedding might look. Our favourite part? You can order color swatches of your choices and hand them to anyone involved in the wedding so that they can help you to find decorations, invitations and other accessories that coordinate.

Take That band member, Mark Owen, married his “Babe” Emma Ferguson in Cawdor, Scotland on November 11th. The wedding was a low key affair, in the local parish church, with only their closest family and freinds present, although several hundred Take That fans gathered outside for a glimpse of the boys.
Emma opted for a vintage wedding look, with an antique lace gown and matching veil. Her 1920’s hair do completed the look, and earns her a gold star in our opinion.
The same can’t be said for her diminutive groom, who despite his small stature still couldn’t seem to find clothes to fit, wearing a rather frugly dark purple jacket with black satin lapel. Really, Mark, you would have looked better wearing your dashing outfit from the Shine music video!
